People who know me, know that I am a comic fan
girl. I strongly prefer indie and non-superhero
(aka:cape) comics. However, I love Batman comics.
Mainly because they have such a psychological feel
to them. Below are some of my favorite comics and
my reviews of them. I always love chatting about
comics, manga and graphic novels. So, please feel
free to IM me at Shampoo150 (AIM)if you want to
talk about one of my favorite subjects!

Reviews
Sandman
This is my all time favorite comic. I love it so
much, I've paid almost $200 for the two Absolute
Sandman books (shown in the pic above). Sandman
follows the story of Morpheus (aka Dream, and
several other names) and his 6 siblings; Death,
Destiny, Delirium, Despair and her twin Desire, and
Destruction. Together they are the Endless. My
favorite story in the series is, "Season of Mists".
Dream ventures into hell to find Nadia, a girl he
cast into the underworld when she rejected him.
Tired of his job, Lucifer ends up giving the
key to hell to The Dream King. My second
favorite story is a rewrite of "A Midsummer Night's
Dream" in which Shakespeare and his troupe of
actors perform the play for dream (as part of a
bargain) and the actual residents of Faerie.
Fables
Driven out of their homelands by an evil adversary,
the characters from classic fairy tales and fables
find their new home in NYC. They live in Fable Town
away from the Mundys (mundane aka normal people)
and The Farm (where non-human fables live). Snow
White, Big Bad Wolf (Bigby), Prince Charming, Boy
Blue, Beauty and The Beast, Red Riding Hood and so
many others plan a war to take back their
homelands. Not every fable is a good guy though.
There's war, betrayal, an unlikely King and a very unique marriage.
Jack of Fables
The cocky, charming rouge fable has his own series.
Jack (of The Bean Stalk, Jack and Jill, Jack Be
Nimble...etc) is a scheming, woman chasing
jack ass. But, you can't help but love him.
Y The Last Man
A plague of unknown origin kills every living thing
with a Y chromosome. Except for a young man named
Yorick and his pet monkey. Yorick and assigned
escort, Agent 335 trek across the world to find
Yorick's GF in Australia. Of course, there are side
trips along the way, and meetings with different
women (some on Yorick's side and some, definitely not).
Sin City
Booze, Betrayal, The Babes of Old Town, Bullets and
Deadly Little Miho. Printed in black and white with
random splashes of color. The gritty, romantic and
often violent world of Basin City sucks you in. The
movie is said to be the most true to the original
comic book movie.
